Signature Beer: Road 2 Ruin Double IPA

Five second Description: This is an amazing and large brewery.  It is so popular it feels more like a large bar than a brewery (which is not a bad thing). They coordinate food trucks all the time and sell snacks at the bar.  They do a lot of contract brewing including “Sip of Sunshine”.

Why you should go: There is always something going .

Five-second Description: Kind of a chill place that is inside a cinder block structure behind other building on Main ST in Niantic.  Fairly good beer, but it could be improved.

Why you should go:  The entire place is painted with undersea murals right down to the restroom doors.  If you like turtles, you will love this place.

Five-second Description: This a popular place with the locals and has all the ingredients to be a fun place.  It is clearly decorated by the owners with an assortment of skateboards hung on the ceiling.

Why you should go:  Good beer and a good crowd, this fills a gap in the map for breweries.

Signature Beer: Marriage Counselling IPA

Five-second Description: This is a former mill made into a restaurant and then gutted to be made into a brewery.  They have an OK assortment of their own beers and a wide assortment of outside brews from local breweries.  Great work on the interior and they also serve bar type food items.  Upstairs they have a nice quiet Bourbon bar as well.

Why you should go:  The scene is always hopping and they have something for everybody.

Better Half Brewing

The better half here was the pizza.  This place felt more like a pizza place that brewed beer on the side.  You would think that either the pizza or the beer could keep them afloat, but neither was great and it did not work.
