Five second Description:  Good beer in a and a very popular growing brewery.

Why you should go: This brewery is in a great location with a great tasting room, and tours.  There is also a nice outdoor seating area and plent of restaurants within a stones throw.

Five second Description:  It is all about the beer and it is fantastic.

Why you should go: Great selection of great beer from a beer that tastes like “Thai Takeout” to several Juicy NE IPAs.  The setting is in the back of a building and is barely big enough for the line to get your growler filled.

Five second Description: Reasonable selection of German style beer in a bit of an odd setting.

Why you should go: Very friendly staff with a descent tasting room.  The beer garden out back needs a lot more work to feel authentic, but you can sit outside

Why you should go: They are the only brewery in the area, but very near several vineyards.

Why you should go: They have a huge selection, their sampler has 12 beers!  They also have a nice layout and open to the parking lot on nice days.

The Crossings Brewpub

This place was never much of a brewery, but I was surprised to see the restaurant closed.

Signature Beer: Not sure on this

Five-second Description: Nice place to grab some grub in Putnam, but they need to work on their beer and marketing.  Pretty cool setting, it is an old railroad station and near a charming eclectic downtown.

Why you should go: Good food, neat setting and good guest beers on tap.
