Signature Beer: Shore Shore IPA

Five-second Description:  Nautical theme throughout with ropes and paddles.  The booths are built to feel like you’re on a boat as well.  Nice outside space with very friendly staff and owners. Great branding and merchandise too.  They make some pretty good IPAs for a nano brewery.

Why you should go: This place is in a brewery desert and very easy to get to. They also create great beer mixtures that enhance the flavors of their beers i.e Maple Stout and Pumpkin Marzen.

The New Cambridge Project

139 Center St., Bristol, CT  06010

Signature Beer: Maybe Boondoggle Jetlag

Five-second Description: This is the revamped version of the old Firefly Hollow brewery.  A new coat of paint and a bit of a theme change.  They really need some marketting (check out their website) and a reason for people to go other than the beer.  I believe it is the new home for Boondoggle as well.

Why you should go: Still a cool space and the beer is pretty good.

Area Two Experimental Brewing

(203) 335-2010

Signature Beer: If you want signature brands, go next door

Five-second Description: This is just a short walk from Two Roads, but I feel many people miss it.  It is a lot nice and newer than it parent Two Roads, however, you should visit both.  They have some beers that you can try that you most likely will not see again.  A nice outdoor patio and an amazing barrel room. They do have food across the street.

Why you should go:  To try some real interesting experimental Two Roads beer.  They also have some standard beers as well if you are not feeling daring.

Signature Beer:  Superscript IPA

Five-second Description: Real farm with great beers and a fantastic setting, although not much has changed there in 7 years.  I’d like to see some expansion or improvements to the facilities.  They also have been clamped down by the town of Kent and can no longer serve full beers, only sampler size.

Why you should go: Great for the whole family,  and only a few minutes away from Kent Falls.
