Foolproof Brewing Bridgeport

375 Union Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06607
(203) 522-1800

Signature Beer: Ocean State Lager

Five-second Description: This place is a great reuse of an old factory.  Right outside the entrance, they have an actual Bansky spraypainting that was moved for Harlem.  That alon is woth the visit.  It is also a great space with games, couches and a restored Ferrari.  Apparently the owner owns a car restoration business as well.   the beer is OK, but nothing to write home about.  The restaurant is very quick and very good.

Why you should go:  To see the Bansky wall and to check out the Ferarri.

Dead Language Beer Project

1429 Park Street #115, Hartford CT 06106

Signature Beer:  Little Death Czech Dark Lager

Five second Description: great spot reopened where the Hog River used to be.  They really decorated and made the space their own, and it is a great space with the old press in there. They added a few video games as well.  Really liked the quality of the Czech and German beers.

Why you should go: The location and the Czech quality beer.

Sly Bandit Brewery

4 Danbury Road, Wilton CT, 06897
(203) 286-7969

Signature Beer: Delivery Day IPA

Five-second Description: Brand new when we went in and it was hard to get a vibe.  Everything is very fancy and has great branding.  They also have a pretty nice kitchen.   I just think they need to have more going on there to get people in.

Why you should go:  Good food and beer.

Kent Falls Brewing Company

33 Camps Road, Kent, CT 06757
(860) 398-9645

Signature Beer:  Superscript IPA

Five-second Description: Real farm with great beers and a fantastic setting, although not much has changed there in 7 years.  I’d like to see some expansion or improvements to the facilities.  They also have been clamped down by the town of Kent and can no longer serve full beers, only sampler size.

Why you should go: Great for the whole family,  and only a few minutes away from Kent Falls.

Signature Beer: Julius

Five-second Description:  A beauticful farm turned into a sattelite brewery and cidery.  Go on a nice day and relax in the Aderondak chairs or picnic tables.  You can also get a limited supply of beer brewed on the farm!  The beer is great and keep it a secret.

Why you should go: Less creaxy than going to Tree House and no lines with a chill place to drink.

Food: None, other than snacks and cheese (bring a cheese board with you).

Red Brewster Brewery

50 Weymouth Rd, Enfield, CT 06082

Signature Beer: Pitchfork Porter

Five-second Description: Very small place with a friendly vibe.  It is like you built a giant garage and put a brewery in it.  Normal selection of beers with something for everyone. They also have a full bar with Litchfield Distillary spirits.

Why you should go:  Get teh Porter, it is amazing.

Off the Rails Brewing Company

86 Main St Unit E, Stafford, CT 06076
(860) 971-7095

Signature Beer: Fade to Black (with a coconut finish)

Five-second Description:  Small well-themed place on an older Main Street area.  Lots of decorations tied to the train derailment theme.  Very cool bar that has HO tracks and hops epoxied into the top.  Six very diverse beers that are decent.  Good stop if you are passing by.  Cool space and exterior, but not what I classify as a reuse.

Why you should go: To support another old Main Street area, and when you are done, there is an ice cream shop down the road a bit.

Food: None, other than snacks.

Caius Farm Brewery

101 N Branford Rd, Branford, CT 06405
(203) 433-4660

Signature Beer: Cleopatra IPA with New Zealand Hops, still early though

Five-second Description:  Fantastic high-quality beer, a very refined interior, and a lovely outdoor space.  They use ancient people as the names for all their beers which can be a bit confusing.  Love their branding, but again the beer names throw me.  If you want to stop at a great unique vineyard close by I recommend Rosabianca Vineyards.

Why you should go: They have very high-quality beer and it is not just IPAs.  Very crowd-pleasing beer selection.  Great space with some really cool decorations.

Food: They often have food trucks, check their website.

The Boroughs Brewing Company

21A Furnace St. Danielson, CT 06239
(860) 942-6506

Signature Beer: Es Bien

Five-second Description:  Former home of Black Pond Brewery without a lot of change. I hope they can pull off what their predecessor did, brew good beer, and grow out of the building.  The building is incredibly unique and was originally built as a photo studio over 100 years ago.  They are in the end in the basement, I would love to see them grow to take over the upstairs.  The space is a bit small, but certainly large enough for now. The beer was OK and still needs some work to get to the next level.  Friendly owner that is willing to talk beer to anyone!

Why you should go: A great stop before going to Putnam for another brewery stop and dinner.  The very unique building is worth a look. A nice outside area that I hope they take advantage of.
