BAR

254 Crown St, New Haven, CT 06511
(203) 495-8924

Signature Beer: O’Patricks Irish Stout

Five-second Description:  In downtown New Haven near Yale.  More of a restaurant/bar than a brewery with great New Haven style pizza.  They do brew beer but don’t take it seriously.  It is a pretty cool space and they attract a wide variety of people there.

Why you should go: Go for the pizza and hit their guest taps..

Phantom Brewing Company

290 Murphy Road, Hartford, Connecticut 06114
860-247-2969

Signature Beer: King Tut IPA

Five-second Description:  Kind of an odd space in an office park that is half brewery and half beer making supply store.  The space is nice enough, but the beer supply area needs to be better separated as it detracts from the main room look and feel.  No real outdoor space to speak of other than a small grassy area.

Why you should go: If you go it should be about the beer, they have a wide range of types.

East Hartford Brewing

776 Tolland St, East Hartford, CT 06108
(860) 469-6135

Signature Beer: Ten Penny Ale

Five-second Description:  Great revival of the Burnside Brewing location and brand.  Very comfortable new space set up in back with room to lounge and an outside garden.  The Juicy Penny IPA is also getting very good.  Looking forward to more IPAs, but if you like other beers, they have a wide selection.

Why you should go: It is all about the water and they have a great water source that used to be used for an ice company.

Evening Sky Brewing Company

280 Spielman Hwy, Burlington, CT 06013
(860) 609-2272

Signature Beer: Too early, but I will go with Horizon

Five-second Description:  Nice setup with all the brewery essentials, indoor and outdoor seating.  Large assortment of beer with all tastes in mind.  A bit difficult to find, drove right by the entrance twice, and even when we went in, there was no good signage.  Hint: it is the way back in the parking lot.

Why you should go: Active scene with plenty of space and the closest brewery around if you live near Burlington.

Problem Solved Brewing

2 North Rd #4, East Windsor, CT 06088

Signature Beer:  Demoninator Double IPA

Five-second Description: This brewery was conveyed to its current owners by Broadbrook.  The space is reasonable although the entrance is hard to find in the parking lot maze it is in.  Fairly nice game room off to one side as well

Why you should go: They are finally concentrating on IPAs and some of them are pretty good. Also right around the corner from the CT Trolley Museum!

Armada Brewing

190 River St, New Haven, CT 06513

Signature Beer:  Savage Queen Double IPA

Five-second Description: Another recovered space that has been really modernized.  There is a small tasting/drinking room downstairs, then there is a club like vibe upstairs.   The beer is very good, especially the unique IPAs.  Plenty of parking but no outdoor space that I could find.  If your hungry they have Zuppardi’s pizza from West Haven and it is great.  The owner and staff have a great service minded approach as well.

Why you should go: They have e always made good beer, now they finally have their own place to do it.
