Dead Language Beer Project

1429 Park Street #115, Hartford CT 06106

Signature Beer:  Little Death Czech Dark Lager

Five second Description: great spot reopened where the Hog River used to be.  They really decorated and made the space their own, and it is a great space with the old press in there. They added a few video games as well.  Really liked the quality of the Czech and German beers.

Why you should go: The location and the Czech quality beer.

Signature Beer: Giant Sequoia Dounle IPA

Five-second Description: This place is an amazing spot in downtown hartford where you can watch the game, get something to eat and enjoy the great beer that Urban Lodge produces.  It is very large with space on a second level as well.  They also have a full bar.

Why you should go:  Great location although you do have to pay to park if there is an event going on.

Phantom Brewing Company

290 Murphy Road, Hartford, Connecticut 06114
860-247-2969

Signature Beer: King Tut IPA

Five-second Description:  Kind of an odd space in an office park that is half brewery and half beer making supply store.  The space is nice enough, but the beer supply area needs to be better separated as it detracts from the main room look and feel.  No real outdoor space to speak of other than a small grassy area.

Why you should go: If you go it should be about the beer, they have a wide range of types.

Five-second Description: Great meeting space with a nice rentable room in the back.  Great beer and they also serve wine and mixed drinks, although there is not much brewing done here.

City Steam Brewery

942 Main St, Hartford, CT  06103

Unfortunately, they never evolved to reinvent themselves as a brewery introducing new beer and interesting food.  It is never good to get locked in time.

Signature Beer: Naughty Nurse

Five Second Description: Great brewpub in downtown Hartford.  Very innovative brewery with really OK food and a full restaurant.    Time to get a little creative with newer beers if they want to stay relevant.

Why you should go: A place to get a bite to eat and many of their own brews on tap including lighter New England IPAs.
